This is an aside titled 'Goodbye Culture11' dated 1/28/09

Culture11, designed to be a Slate/The Daily Beast -style web magazine and social network for conservatives, is no more. Peter Suderman, Cheryl Miller, Elizabeth Nolan Brown, Conor Friedersdorf, James Poulos, among other contributers, are all great writers and I wish them the best. There were great music and film reviews in addition to the fascinating internal debate over just how socially conservative one must be to be part of the movement. Don’t think this means the right isn’t ready to accept gay marriage, abortion, or, um, Pitchfork-approved music. It’s just another example of how hard it is to be a working journalist in this economy. According to C11 David Kuo, they “will try to keep platform alive for discussions”.

  • I'm still mad at Culture11 for exposing me to the writing of Joe Carter. Alas, it will be missed.
